R+D+I

PIGRA works on research, development and innovation projects studying new formulas in order to bring new technologies and materials to the market, in collaboration with the UPC’s LITEM Specific Research Center.

The aim is to optimize resources, promote respect for the environment, increase quality and improve safety conditions for workers.

Pigra is a collaborating company of the new Industrial Doctorate in Materials, Nanotechnology and Industrial Processes led by the University of Barcelona.

Some of the projects are:

  • Obtained funding from the Board of Directors of the Center for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) for the project “Research on the flexural behaviour of mixed concrete beams and GFRP profiles, COMPOBEAM”.

  • Obtaining a grant from ACCIÓ, the Agency for Business Competitiveness of the Generalitat de Catalunya, for industrial research and experimental development projects in the field of climate change for the year 2022. Project ‘Predictive System for Resilient Industrial Mobility (ResilMob)’ led by Pigra Enginering S.L., with the collaboration of the advanced simulation company Quantech and CIMNE, the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering.

  • Participation in the National Public-Private Cooperation Programme, INNPACTO sub-programme. With projects in cooperation with LITEM, to carry out an R&D&I project that will develop a new tunnel support technology based on the use of composite materials, ATLANTE.

  • Participation in the Seventh Framework Programme of the CORDIS community of the European Commission with the ATLANTE project and the cooperation of universities and companies from the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Spain.
